Arts for All Gallery - CALL for PROPOSALS

Arts for All Gallery, a program of VSA arts of Georgia, invites curators, artist organizers, scholars and representatives from arts and social service organizations to submit exhibition proposals for consideration. The Gallery is committed to presenting innovative art exhibitions by artists of merit with disabilities and/or those with low income.

Launched in 1998, Arts for All Gallery is located off the rotunda of the historic Healey Building in downtown Atlanta. About the gallery space: 1,200 square feet; professional track lighting; Arakawa hanging system; hardwood floors; a series of large plateglass windows offers passers-by and cafe diners an excellent view of the current exhibit.

We offer a curatorial honorarium and a modest budget to cover marketing and installation expenses. Proposals should briefly address the following:
  • Curatorial concept and how it fits into the Arts for All Gallery mission
  • Timeframe
  • Proposed artists (if known) and artwork, or plan to select artists
  • Potential community partnerships or resources
  • Feasibility, including any particular budget needs
  • Technical requirements
  • Fundraising and marketing potential (optional)
  • Qualifications of curator or organizing entity, as well as contact information
  • Additional pertinent information

Include up to 10 slides, digital images on CD, or other visual materials that accurately represent the proposed artwork. Original works of art will not be accepted. Provide a stamped, self-addressed envelope for return of proposal materials.

Exhibition proposals are due on September 15th and March 15th. They are reviewed in October and April respectively by the Arts for All Gallery Committee, a group of prominent visual arts professionals serving in a volunteer capacity. If accepted, exhibitions are usually scheduled a minimum of one year in advance.
