Arts for All Gallery presents DREAMS & NIGHTMARES, an exhibition of photography by the Hillside Photographers, under the guidance of Jill Larson. The exhibition, presented in conjunction with Atlanta Celebrates Photography, opens on Tuesday, October 1st, and will be on view through Friday, November 8th, 2002. The artwork created by these young photographers, ranging in age from 7 to 17 years old, is inspired by an exploration of their special needs. The exhibition addresses their experiences of delightful dreams and terrifying nightmares, during waking moments and sleeping states. As these young artists explore both their past and their future, they express their darkest fears as well as their most joyous monuments.

Hillside Hospital is Atlanta's oldest service agency, currently providing residential treatment, therapeutic foster care and community intervention programs for troubled children and adolescents, and their families. The photography program, which Jill Larson has coordinated for several years, is designed to promote a positive means of self-expression by introducing methods of expressing feelings though a visual approach.

Arts for All Gallery hosted two receptions for the exhibition. The opening reception took place Thursday, October 3rd, 2002, from 5 - 8 p.m. Curator Jill Larson offered a Gallery Talk at 6:30 p.m. The closing reception was Thursday, November 7th, 5 - 8 p.m. Both events were part of First Thursdays, Atlanta's downtown arts walk.
