PACE INTO ARTS FOR ALL GALLERY

Atlanta, GA ~ Arts for All Gallery at VSA arts of Georgia presents PACE, a highly personal project created by local artist Hadley Breckenridge.  The one-woman show, consisting of more than 300 photographs, documents the artist’s experience of traveling throughout Atlanta on foot and using public transportation.  PACE continues on view for the public for seven weeks, through Friday, June 20, 2008.

Ms. Breckenridge is a fine art photographer who holds an MFA in Photography from Georgia State University (2005) and a BA in Photojournalism from the University of Southern Mississippi (2002).

“I wait for trains, buses and other rides. Sometimes it takes up to an hour and a half to get somewhere that would otherwise take 15 minutes by car. I have no control over the delayed sense of time that I experience. Life seems to be eaten away with this constant waiting.”    ~  Hadley Breckenridge

Arts for Gallery is located in the historic Healey Building at 57 Forsyth Street, NW, in Downtown Atlanta.  The exhibits opens with a Meet the Artist reception on Thursday, May 1, 2008, from 5 – 8 PM; the evening is part of Atlanta’s monthly downtown arts walk, Turner First Thursday, and complimentary light refreshments are served.  PACE patrons may also meet the artist at Turner First Thursday on June 5th, from 5 – 8 PM. Both events are free and open to the public, and an ASL interpreter is provided.  Arts for All Gallery is open Monday – Friday, from 10 AM – 4 PM; there is an ADA-accessible entrance, and admission is always free.
