MAKE YOUR MARK, TOOMarch 2, 2010 - April 23, 2010 VSA arts of Georgia continues its ten year history of offering unique exhibition projects to the Atlanta arts community by presenting MAKE YOUR MARK, TOO in Arts for All Gallery, opening March 2 and continuing on view through April 23, 2010 MAKE YOUR MARK, TOO is based upon ~ and is an extension of ~ a novel exhibition project created by VSA arts of Georgia staff, and presented in Arts for Gallery in 2007, in which a selected group of Georgia artists created original artwork on location in the gallery, during the course of the five week long exhibit. In this follow-on project, aspiring and emerging artists will be paired with established, more experienced artists. Each pair of artists will collaborate to create an original work of art, working on location in Arts for All Gallery during regular business hours, for three to four weeks. Patrons will have the opportunity to witness and observe the art-making process, and to engage and converse with artists as they work together on their collaborative endeavor. The finished works will then be displayed in Arts for All Gallery for several more weeks, providing the Atlanta art community the opportunity to view the finished work.
Arts for All Gallery is located in the historic Healey Building at 57 Forsyth Street, NW, in Downtown Atlanta. In addition to weekday hours, the gallery will host two public receptions, on Thursday, November 5 and Thursday, December 3, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM; both receptions are part of First Thursday, Atlanta’s first and original downtown arts walk. First Thursday events are free and open to the public, complimentary light refreshments are provided, and at Arts for All Gallery an ASL interpreter will be present, and live Audio Description for patrons with visual impairments is available upon request. The gallery is open to the public Monday – Friday, from 10 AM – 4 PM; there is an ADA-accessible entrance, and admission is always free.
