ARTS FOR ALL: A 5th Anniversary Celebration

ARTS FOR ALL: A 5TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION will be on view in the Arts for All Gallery from March 4 through April 18, 2003. Arts for All Gallery opened its first exhibition in the Spring of 1998, when VSA arts of Georgia moved into its new office facility in the historic Healey Building in the Fairlie-Poplar district of downtown Atlanta. The 5TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION will be the gallery’s thirty-second exhibition of original artwork.

The ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION will include artwork acquired from previous exhibitions hosted by Arts for All Gallery during its five years of exemplary service to the Atlanta arts community and area artists. Many local artists working in a wide variety of mediums will be represented, as well as artists from the Southeast region and around the country, including: Fred Budin, Ezra Greenbriar, Marquetta Johnson, Christine Lanier, James "Seymour" Lunsford, Anthony Milella, Honey Parks, David Sampson, Karen Tauches and Jenn Brown, Joan Tysinger, adn Ernest G. Welch. Youth and students artists served by other VSA arts of Georgia programs will also be represented by work in the Arts for All collection.

Arts for All Gallery will host a First Thursday opening reception on March 6th, 2003, from 5 - 8 p.m. Many of the artists will be present, and entertainment will be provided by Gene-Gabriel Moore, performing excerpts from his original play "Linthead Boy."  The closing reception will take place on First Thursday April 3rd, from 5 - 8 p.m., featuring a new work, titled "Light in Winter," by Atlanta choreographer/dancer Louise Runyon. Both receptions are open to the public, and an assortment of complimentary refreshments will be provided.
