Community Events

Arts and cultural venues collaborate with VSA arts of Georgia to provide opportunities for people who have disabilities or who are economically disadvantaged to attend performances or special events through free admission. Donated tickets are made available to non-profit organizations throughout Georgia. Special Events, such as plays, musicals, movies or sporting events, are listed under Special Events, Calendar of Events. Agency partners also receive a listing of those Ongoing Events available throughout the year, such as museums, galleries and historical sites.  This information can also be seen on this website under Community Events, Ongoing Events.

How can I get free tickets through VSA arts of Georgia?

VSA arts does not distribute tickets directly to individuals. Non-profit organizations may apply for services; approved agencies may then request tickets on behalf of their consumers or clients. We cannot serve schools or churches as such, but occasionally can serve programs of schools or churches if they have their own 501(c)(3) status. Applications may be submitted throughout the year from organizations that:
  • Hold documentation of 501(c)(3) designation with the Federal government
  • OR are government agencies;
  • Have been providing direct services for at least 18 months; and
  • Serve primarily individuals who have disabilities or who have low income, and do not discriminate based on race, religion, sexual orientation or otherwise.

Each agency pays a yearly administrative fee, based on the total budget of the agency applying.  The fee is based solely on the budget and not on the number of tickets you use.

Would you like an application?

If your agency qualifies, you may receive an application by faxing (404.221.1984) or emailing your request (infoATVSAartsGADOTorg). Once the application and all materials have been received by mailand processed by VSA arts of Georgia, you will usually be notified by e-mail. Processing usually takes two to three weeks but can be longer during the spring and at the end of the calendar year.

Orientations

New Agency or new Contact Person?  All new contacts are REQUIRED to attend a one-hour orientation held at our office before they can begin to request tickets.  These are usually held on the 3rd Thursday of the month and start promptly at 10:00 a.m.

We do not have tickets to the Georgia Aquarium.

For all tickets we do have, please see Ongoing Events for the complete list of wonderful venues you can visit for free.
